NFL Thursday Night; Giants vs Redskins

An old school NFC East battle featuring … the division’s best quarterback? (AP Photo/Bill Kostroun)

Though the sample size is small, one could argue Kirk Cousins is the NFC East’s best quarterback. Tony Romo self-combusted in Week 1. Nick Foles, while improving week-by-week, still misses open receivers too often. Eli Manning is a shell of his former Super Bowl-winning self. Only Cousins has played exceptionally well through the brief duration of the 2014 season.

His numbers are nearly perfect. He’s completing well over 60% of his passes, spreading the football to all his receivers, and most importantly, putting up points at a rate the Redskins have only seen one other time in the past decade. Only Robert Griffin III’s rookie season was as explosive.

Most of all, Cousins never looks out of place. His poise is second to none in the division. Will he be the best quarterback in the division at season’s end, or even six weeks from now? Who knows, but you’d be dead wrong if you think he doesn’t have a chance. REDSKINS If I were Charles Barkely; Redskins -3
