The horses have set the pace in the AFC. After five weeks of NFL action, the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts sit atop the conference with identical 5-0 records. Not to be outdone, the Cardiac Cats of Cincinnati downed another division rival and are in hot pursuit of the AFC studs (pun intended).

While the AFC North boasts an intriguing showdown between the Bengals and Ravens, there are plenty of lopsided match-ups in week five. Eight teams with a collective 23-8 record face off against opponents with a collective 3-28 record. Let’s see if I can identify the upsets.

The Broncos and Brandon Marshall waited until the 4th quarter to silence their doubters (for now) while the Patriots staked their claim as the team to beat in the AFC. Elsewhere, the Giants got a scare, Peyton Manning continued his dominance, and Mark Sanchez abruptly fell back to earth.

Brett Favre will share the field with the Green Bay Packers yet again. Only this time, he’ll be in purple. Also this week: The Jaguars get help acquiring fans, AFC heavyweights do battle, and the Lions take us back to 2007. The fun’s inside…
